Volunteer Registration Form

Get on board and #MakeAWave!

Introduction

In 2025, we will celebrate the 750th anniversary of our capital city with the 10th edition of SAIL Amsterdam. Ships, crew members and visitors from all over the world will come together to celebrate nautical history and different world views.

A celebration for everyone, for Holland Waterland, connecting young and old from all cultures. But without volunteers no SAIL, get on board and #MakeAWave!

Who are we looking for?

In order to organise SAIL, we are looking for 1,800 volunteers aged 16 and over from diverse backgrounds. As a volunteer, you are the calling card of SAIL 2025. Welcome the more than 2 million visitors with a smile and help them with any questions they may have.

We try to assign everyone to a function that suits you, such as: hospitality, public information and security. So be sure to tell us your preferences via this form.

What’s in it for you?

  • Experience SAIL up close: enjoy the atmosphere, the enthusiasm of visitors, meet the participants and experience the event up close
  • Strengthen your network: make connections with inspiring people, other volunteers and professionals in the field
  • Develop your talents: try out a new role or build on your previous experience and develop new skills in a unique environment
  • Unforgettable memories: SAIL offers an experience you won't find anywhere else, unforgettable memories guaranteed
  • Benefits: we take good care of you with a safety net construction insurance (your own insurance remains first point of contact), a special volunteer clothing package from a well-known brand, meals during your shifts (lunch and/or dinner, so no breakfast) and access to exclusive volunteer activities such as the final party for all crew members

Personal details

Through the form below, we ask for your details, preferences for functions and qualities. This allows us to put the right person in the right place.

The data will be securely stored according to the AVG and destroyed after SAIL Amsterdam 2025. With the exception of the email address, we will use this to ask you again as a volunteer for SAIL Amsterdam 2030.

Expectations

We strive to take everyone's preferences into account when assigning you, but sometimes we cannot avoid assigning you to a 2nd or 3rd preferred position. We hope for your understanding.

In addition, at SAIL voluntarism is not optional. We expect a positive attitude, strong communication skills, a good dose of enthusiasm and no fear of long days :)

Accommodation

We do not offer overnight accommodation. Only for specific positions where overnight stays are necessary will options be discussed. So for most cases, this means daily travel to Amsterdam, fortunately public transport around SAIL is well organized! Do you live in the Amsterdam area, do you have one (or more) spare bed(s) and would you like to host a fellow volunteer? Great! Would you like to let us know via the comments in the form?
